A Changing Altar: Serious Stuff - (tw: abortion)

(I won’t be tagging this with anything other than ‘trigger warning’, because I don’t need any troll flack about abortion clogging up my blog. Please do not read any further if you are triggered by abortion or related issues. Thank you.)

When you have a spirit in your home that you do not want there, what do you do? Not entirely sure this situation MUST be evaluated utterly differently, if the decision has been made.

One does not have to be an ass about it, but telling the spirit “There is nothing for you here, and will be nothing for you here. I’m sorry. Get out.” is a good course of action.  And if there is any attachment to that spirit from her to it, and from it to her, those must be severed. Gently, but severed.

I agree with root and rock. You could also make it a simple release and goodbye ritual (after the abortion).

Bring a lantern for illumination.

Then taking a representation of the child (as well as anything else associated with the unborn child), some offerings (candy, honey, and milk sounds nice), a small candle, and leave these as at a crossroads somewhere far from your friend’s and your dwelling, in a peaceful place of nature, preferably near of source of water and on rich earth (symbolic of the feminine and mother).

Leave the representation (and anything else associated with the unborn child), candy, honey, milk, and candle there (burning). Ask the earth to set the spirit free from your friend and you, releasing the bond between your friend and the spirit, and for the earth, the water, the mother to take care of the spirit and help it on it’s way.

Leave the candle to burn out, stating further goodbyes, and then take a different route home than the one you got there. Follow with cleansings of self and dwelling place of both you (the worker) and your friend, as well as reinforcing wards around the self and dwelling place of the friend and you (the worker).

Hope this helps :)

Fantastic! Really, these ideas are exactly what I needed to hear! I’m still a bit wary about doing this all by myself,...
